| Doug
Henderson launched his career
as natural history artist in 1977
after he hiked the Continental
Divide Trail from Mt. Robson Provincial
Park in British Columbia, Canada
to Yellowstone National Park.
Doug taught himself to draw while
sketching landscapes of the Yellowstone
region. In 1979, Doug relocated
to Bozeman, Montana to attend
art classes at Montana State University.
Three years later, Doug was commissioned
to illustrate a children’s
book on nesting duckbill dinosaurs.
Doug has worked as a free-lance
natural history illustrator, specializing
in Earth History and book illustration,
ever since. Doug’s interest
in paleontology stems from his
major in geology the first years
of undergraduate school. Doug
received B.A. in 1973 from the
University of Kentucky in Physical
Education, and an A.D. from Lexington
Technical Institute in 1976. Doug
has joined Syncreta Associates
to pursue his interest in creating
fine artwork that reflects Earth’s
history for museum exhibitions. |
