Project Overview

We insure the success of all or our exhibits by taking particular steps during their development which require the intended audience's participation:

1. Interest Query - Affirming Institutional Interest

We conduct nationwide queries of public education institutions to determine
  • interest in the proposed exhibit topic,
  • the venue's visitorship expectations,
  • and any concerns about the exhibit before conceptual development begins.

2. Public Interest - Front-end Surveys

We survey the general public in several States to ascertain
  • their interest in our selected exhibit topic,
  • what they know about the topic,
  • what they would like to know about the topic,
  • and what they want to see in an exhibit on a particular topic.

3. Evaluations

  • Formative Evaluation
These surveys evaluate the appropriateness and functionality of the major components in each exhibit, i.e., cabinetry height, text style and size, information presentation, lighting. A reiterative process, formative evaluations assure that the finished exhibit is accessible by the universal visitor.
  • Summative Evaluation
This final evaluation, conducted after the exhibit is open to the public, helps Syncreta and other exhibit developers understand what components are successful at conveying information to visitors of all ages and interests, and what components might need further consideration.

4. Exhibit Support

Syncreta Associates provides exhibit maintenance and support to all of its venues. For each exhibit, we develop and distribute exhibit marketing materials, promotional events packages, and comprehensive education packages for both in-exhibit and in-classroom experiences. Each venue is provided with an installation/deinstallation team, technical support, and continuous up-dates to all of the exhibit's interactives. Each exhibit program also includes periodic refreshments.

5. Quality Control

Quality control of our exhibits is insured by the front-end public survey, and the formative (and summative) evaluations. By encouraging public scrutiny before the exhibit's release, we insure that the exhibit is physically safe for public consumption, and that the majority of the exhibit's visitors will leave with a better understanding of the topic being presented to them.

Because we are committed to presenting an unbiased perspective of the available information, we publish complete bibliographies for each exhibit thus making them a public example of the process of science: evolving approaches and perspectives as new evidence and information become known.
